hi Mike ,Mosaic cutters are maybe the best to use ,,my wife is a disabled person so i rigged this set up for her ,, i find i use it just as much,,set the fence to how even short or long she wants stringers,i guess you would just slide the cames and keep hitting the handle

well i got the sort of finish i am hoping to get ,,,all so got some very heavy folding, 25mm thick.i think i may have to rethink my firing program and allow more time for annealing,,,Any thoughts

i want to make a pair of matching plates using the shape of the bottles ,so when they have been slumped they can lay side by side with out a big difference in the over all shape

hi there one and all.. these bottles have a lot of sentimental value, so i only get one try at slumping them ,,,i want to try and dam two sides as they slump,,,has anyone tried this and have success?? any input would be appreciated..and yes i would use some thin fire or kiln wash on the dams many th...

Hi all ,,Would anyone care to tell me what i am doing wrong. Am using spectrum 96 glass, the blanks were 14 cm wide and 7 mm thick. The first one i tried to slump through a drop ring popped after a few hours after coming out of the kiln the 2nd was in bits when i opened the kiln next morning 175 500...

hey thanks for the info Morgainica,,i fired my tubes and was very happy with what i got out ,some interesting points for any one trying these the tubes i had pack with just strips of glass,(6mm) i got no air bubbles, the ones which had strips and fine frit (well packed with a few taps on the side) h...

mmmm seems i have opened Pandora's box ,,the moulds are from creative ceramics and 15 " round or across. the instructions say to pre fire at a rate of 50c per hour to 800c ,time 960 minutes ,,the trouble with this program is that my kiln controller will not handle that as it is just too slow,,,...

firing a new mold

hi guys i have some new ceramics mold up to 340 mm wide that i need to pre fire, but not sure about the firing rate and time . one program says a rate of 50c per hour to 800c ,,that's 16 hours ,,is this right ?? many thanks paul
