Re: Jewelry adhesive advice
I completely agree with you about the runny epoxy, it's really aggravating. I'll check out Barry's tutorial on E6000. I'm happy to use it because I can buy it anywhere; the Epoxy 330 needs to be ordered, another con. Question? is resist tape different from masking or blue tape? Thanks so much! JaYing

Jewelry adhesive advice
Hi, I've looked though past posts on the topic of excellent adhesive for gluing findings to fused glass jewelry, but don't see recommendations beyond epoxy and E6000. I've used both Epoxy 330 and E6000 and am not satisfied with either. I like that Epoxy 330 dries very clear and adheres well, but don...

Re: Can I fill in cracks in slumped bowl with frit & re-fire
Thank you. I'll do as you recommended. I've actually fired and slumped hundreds of pieces for others; but they have mostly been small, less than 6" and shallow. Haven't had any problems with the pre-programmed schedules and have been too lazy to enter a custom one. I guess it's time to now! JaY...

Can I fill in cracks in slumped bowl with frit & re-fire?
I just slumped a customer's beautiful 10" bowl and discovered that it cracked during the slump. I've uploaded a photo to show that there's a 6" "Y" shaped crack on the underside. On the top side (inside of bowl), the crack is less pronounced and, since the pattern is very colorfu...

Re: Two strange developments when I fused
Thanks to everyone who responded. The disappearing frit is an annoyance. I re-fired with opal frit and two colors came out better, but the green pretty much disappeared again. I'll contact the customer and ask her to use brighter frit, and I'll tack fuse. The repair attempt on the hole didn't come o...

Two strange developments when I fused
Hello, I am new to this board. I have an retail art studio and boutique in the San Francisco area. One of the activities I offer is a drop-in fused glass studio. I opened about a month ago and business has been brisk. I've done many, many firings with no problems until I yesterday. One customer made...
