Healing Cracks
A piece I fused developed a crack while cold working (guess I got a little rough!). You can not see the crack, but you can feel it. The piece is 1/2" thick. I'd like some suggestions on a firing schedule to heal the crack. I will re-dam the glass prior to firing. How far up should I go? Do I ha...

I bought stainless stell dams from the link below. They work great! To prepare them I heat the dam to 500F, then spray with shelf primer. You can see my use of this mold at my web site:

Greg, Are you talking about getting a matte finish or a fire polish? The piece I showed earlier was slumped ar 1250° and had what I'll call a sealed matte finish as opposed to the powdery frost that you get with a freshly blasted surface.
