LADY BLUE
772 ARTISTS FROM 34 COUNTRIES [+ USA citizens] competed on a place in an exhibition named PRIMAL COLORS., At Light, Space Time Gallery. Little me was fortunate, that 2 of my pieces got into this exhibition. Moreover, my LADY BLUE won 1st place in 3 dimesional Art, and even earned me an honorable pla...

Re: FIRE POLISHING
Thanks guys, I already told my colleague, that the "cannons" i.e. more experiences and knwlodgeable glassies, doubt the possibility of fire polishing his piece. I shall repeat this after Saturday to him. We are very grateful for that. Warm Glass remains the best place for good professional...

Re: FIRE POLISHING
Thanks, dear Don, I feel as if I know you, for so many years.... Tomorrow morning I shall let my friend know all the resonses. [midnight here] I must point out that he is IMHO , a very good conceptual artist. Sometimes I can not follow his ideas... :? But he explains them to me. So, will let him kno...

Re: FIRE POLISHING
Thanks, Brad
Then I think it's a lost case for my friend. It is a 3D piece. He told me that he did some coldworking on the piece, but got scratches, of which he wanted to get rid - thru firepolishing.
I assume he would not like to distort what he made.
Will ask him again
Keep safe!

FIRE POLISHING
dear friends,
I hope you are all well and safe, enjoying the extra time because of social distancing!
I would like to know if it is possible to eliminate scratches on a spectrum 96 piece, thru fire polishing.
And if so, at what temprature.
many thanks in advance,
BE SAFE

Controlling my new Bartlet controller
Hello everybody, I hope you are all safe and well. The Corona gave me much more time to spend in my studio, for which I am grateful. As I mentioned before I had to change my kiln-controller, following the electrician's advice. So far so good. I have a problem using it it, though. If I make a mistake...

Re: Does a new kiln controller come already programmed?
Thanks, Kevin That's exactly the difference between us. You are knowledgable and I am ignorant. I have to believe what the electrician says............. So if he says its the controller, I must accept it, especially being in a rush, as i am now. With a deadline to be met on Sunday. Thanks anyway, Be...

Does a new kiln controller come already programmed?
Hi everybody! I hope you are taking good care of yourselves, and using the extra time you have for working with glass, like me. It had been a long time since I spent so much time in my studio. One of the results was..... that probaley the kiln controller broke. I have been using Jen Ken kiln with an...

Re: Tack fusing temp. for frits
Thanks, Brad I want only a thin layer of tack fused glass [without another layer underneath it] It is supposed to be glued to a fragile thin hand-made paper which I make. - Therefore must be light. It is important for me that you mentioned the effect of the size of the frit, and I shall check both. ...

Tack fusing temp. for frits
Hello Dear friends, Hope you are ALL well, wherever you are.... I am planning to create some glass pieces that will get into bigger pieces, not necessarily glass. I would like to tack fuse frit to an extent that one could still see the glass grains [this is imperative]. I would like to consider all ...

Re: How do I present my Art?
Hello, Thanks for your interest! Nothing has come out yet, except that I added a third 'flood'' The piece will be installed by July 10th, I think. Worrying that it might be stolen - I shall keep it a home until the very last minute. I think that I shall put around the pieces pebbles in various sizes...

My Orton controller - did it go wrong??
Hello dear friends! A while ago I was doing a mesh melt. Went as high as 1700F. I stayed there a bit more than recommended, as I wanted maximum glass to flow thru the mesh. Was watching the kiln every once in a while - and it seemed to be working OK. Then, about 5-6 hours after I started the firing,...
