I use the copper set up that should be used with an icemaker from a fridge. Taps into the plumbing, has a loooong small copper tube you can run anywhere, and you can easily put a small valve on the end to control the flow, or just use the valve on the part that attaches to the plumbing.

Kiln backing, flooring

Hi all, I am excitedly expecting my first kiln. I am putting it in my basement. It is a Jen-Ken Maxi Fuse and it comes with at 9" kiln stand. Should I put fire bricks under it (between the stand and the floor?) Should I put brick/fire brick behind it (ie: up against the wall?)

How important and/or necessary is it to vent a small (.61 cf) kiln? TIA
