A few pics of the class that Patty Gray tought at Firehouse

It was a very informative and fun class. Patty is a great and knowledgable instructor.

There will be more when I get some more from the other digital source. ('')

board format changes.

Having cast my stone, I would like to see one change if it is at all feasable. That would be to somehow keep track of the messages in a threrad that you haven't read. Sometimes I inadvertantly visit the board with a different browser and then when I come back, I don't know which messages I have read...

Re: Upturned corners and thin fire?????

[quote="Carla"]Yes, I searched the archives.......

Short story: We just fused a full kiln of tiles with the old style BE thin fire under each tile and all the corners have turned up slightly, like oriental shoes.

Was it the tiles or the thin fire that turned up its toes?

Hi Jerry, BOY, am I ever impressed.

Good job. BTW, are you going to the spring Glass Galore shoe in Lincoln city this year? We are going to give the spring show a try. The fall show treated us nicely.

See you later

If you don't have any airflow, it won't make a difference how much power you have... it'll just make your gloves stick out a little straighter... Re: New & thanks already!

I am a glassbeadmaker & just took my first fusing class last weekend. I was looking for info on fusing Dichroic & discovered this board. Great info in the archives & I just wanted to say thanks & introduce myself. Very nice. I especially like the owls. What a hoot. (pun intended) Wh...

Toyo Tap cutter.

The "tap" refers to the axle of the wheel. It has ridges/indents in it so that when the wheel rotates, it also moves up and down making a Tap ing motion.

You can't see it, deel it or anything, but I do think that it cuts somewhat better that the regular Toros.

Silver staining

Don't know Barb, But I just happened to do the same thing you did, but I was lucky and did it on the back side of the shelf.

After 6 fusing firings, I did a test and the glass still had a little yellow cast where the silver was. :( :(

compressor or air tank.

Hi Paul, I would think that how much you are going to use the airbrush would dictate which one you use. For occasional use an air tank (even a spare tire) would work just fine. But if you are going to do a lot of airbrushing, and possibly some sandblasting/carving in the future, go with a good compr...

Re: Problem Slicing Pattern Bar

As I'm slicing through a pattern bar, when I get to the very end of the slice it cleaves and ruins the cut (and my need for perfection). I'm slicing on a MK 101. The water feed is working and everything appears fine, until I get to the very end and snap. Your input is greatly appreciated. I have fo...
