This board is just another thing that Facebook has impacted negatively, what a difference a few short years have made to the participation and discussion here. But as you say many friends I have on FB came from here.

Thanks for the suggestions..After cutting two pulls worth of came into what turned out to be 16mm...Just to get a uniform length..I am going to have to figure a method to make repeated uniform length cuts shorter. The opposing wheel cutter works OK for me.

Using mosaic cutters flat on a surface to make a uniform height...Reasonably flat. Am going to try tilting the form while assembling. Thanks

So I have pulled the vitrigraph, I have cut the rods into 1/2" lengths, Now trying to lay them out in a circular ring, This like trying to herd cats! Trying to get the pieces to standup while loading is proving to be very frustrating. Is there something i am missing? I now have the ring standin...

dress it frequently with a stone from HIS, no stabilizers might try that..read somewhere you can use old 7" blades as stabilizers?

You may be able to enlarge the opening enough to remove the piece and save the ring...its fairly soft

Go to HIS glassworks and get the Result blade by far the best Glass blade i have used. I am waiting on some Diamond Cut-Off wheels for my Dremel to try a different method of cutting the rim on a drop out. Since Silver is commonly used in eating utensils I would imagine that it is food safe. Dont see why being on glass would change that.

I,personally do not consider ground glass as a hazard to anything but plumbing. I treat it as I would diatomaceous earth and spread it around plants in the garden.

Lowe's and HD sell a Loctite 2part epoxy that comes with 2 applicator tubes...I use the 5 minute type which has been effective for glass to glass, glass to stone and metal...or E 6000
