Actually, that's an Opal Art (not baroque), but yes, it is the glass itself. You could comb it... you'd just be using wider "swaths" of color than what is typical with combing. Enjoy it now, I think Oceanside said they would no longer be able to manufacture the Opal Arts. blacknwhitecomp1....

If kiln wash gets embedded in your glass during a slump, then I think you are slumping at too high of a temperature.

I typically frame my wall hangings to hide the backing boards. That being said I use the thinnest gauge aluminum I can get, it's a bit thicker than a soda can and can be cut with a tin snips. It's backed by an 1/8th inch sheet of ply wood or MDF. I use 1/2" bar or 3/4" aluminum square tub...
