hi guys i have a 12 mm x 22 cm round blank that i want to press between 2 shelf's the top one will have 3 shelf's to give weight on it , the idea is to defuse the colours and bring the 12 mm back to 6 mm but cant find a program that i think will work. i'm all so worried about the whole mass taking t...

hi guys,, can someone tell me if i can use copper pipe as a mould for laying glass over, for glass weaving . i realize i'll have to use kiln paper or kiln wash , but am not sure if the pipe will distort too much. would only be taking the temp to 700c and as copper melds at 1085c it should be OK many...

while i'm sure this has been done before,, i'm all so sure, that there are newbies like my self who would like this,,the photos say it all just make sure the cloth is a very fine weave ,and hold it tight as you screw the top back on

oh dam ,,and bugger ,,,oh my kingdom for a kiln controller,,,,had the kiln up to 820c for a full fuse with the woven glass in side then a bit of an in house emergency took me away from the kiln for like 2 hours,,,needless to say it is ruined ,,,,,,,but on a bright note the iridised glass face down i...

thanks guys for the info ...the glass is in the kiln iridised side and "hoping" ,,will anneal as a 9mm,,,

i guess it was too good to be true,,,,would of been nice as i don't has a lot of room in the studio and having all 3 in one would of been nice...oh well back to looking,,and thanks guys

you could try drilling a very small hole in to the bubble with a diamond bit, then re slumping it with it on the bottom,,but make sure your air holes are open in the mould,,,,well that's what i would try ,,am sure someone will have a better idea

hi guys some thoughts on s/steel rings please. i am thinking of cutting my 21 cm ring on one side to help with expansion and contraction. i know thick kiln paper would work but i'm not able to get any in NZ ,so would use a few layer of thin paper and a hacksaw cut on one side of the ring,,has any on...

i'm sure there will be some one who will say not to ,,but why not try and refuse this . turn it over put dams around it ,,if you can line it up ,i see one corner has really slumped ,,but still it may be worth looking at ,that way you will have a nice flat slab to do some thing with,,i have done this...
