Re: All "eyes" on my website

Thanks guys :) Based this one on an optical illusion I saw painted on the side of building when traveling in Florida as a child. I'll never forget the creepy clown eyes following me down the street as I passed by.

Re: Accepting Credit Cards

Thank you for your great input, Cynthia. I already have an Android, so I have no excuse NOT to give it a whirl. As my hubby already pointed out (numerous times), I can always try Square and still hang on to my regular provider until I'm certain it will work for me. Just one more question for you Squ...

Re: Accepting Credit Cards

Uugh, I feel your pain, Claudia. When I switched to 1st National, it was due to all the nickel and Dime crapola that two other companies had inflicted on their customers. Now they have an annual fee, a sizable yearly "security fee", an increased monthly fee, and an additional monthly proce...

Or, those already in the fused glass community who have no qualms about stealing designs. This happens WAY too much . . . Take out the words "fused glass" and insert any other profession (ceramic, painting, computer programing, political, jouralistic, music, poetic, etc.) and it still hol...

Re: Where?

At least here the kilnforming seem sto follow the track of tiffany. First it is a hobby fad. Then some want to advance to professionals. For a professional to get butter on bread, (s)he starts teaching. That's the business. It also erodes them arkets for mediocre products. Some people however get o...

Re: Flat Lap Disk Question

I had this problem with some of the new discs I purchased through Rio Grande. It was definitely water creeping under the disc. I solved it by; 1) Ever so slightly bending the disc in the middle so it sat absolutely flush (hold with fingertips around he outer edge and push very gently in the middle w...

Re: best digital camera

Don't forget the benefits of a good photo program like PhotoShop. I've spent hours trying to get the perfect lighting, exposure, background, shadow, etc. only to find I could manipulate a lot of these in my photo program. PhotoShop Elements is reasonable too. As far a camera goes, I would get a unit...

For about the same price you can get an AIM kiln. I've been used mine as my primary jewelry kiln for years and it's a real work horse. http://aimkilns.com/html/small.html

Just a thought... is there anything preventing one from running their own card monthly for $20 in the off season just to prevent the fee? Nah, what a pain! Me thinks I'll look into the Global service mentioned in the other thread!

smooth undersides can be achieved using a flat lapping machine. The piece is ground with finer and finer grits and then polished with cerium oxide. I got an 8" grinder from Hisglassworks.com as a Christmas gift and it raised the level of my workmanship considerably. With practice, it is possibl...

A lapidary blade is very thin steel with diamond particles encrusted on the rim. It's intended for your expensive stones that one cannot afford to lose to a chunky ...
