gift for son's teacher-foot tile-question...

My son's teacher recently had a baby and I wanted to cast a tile of the baby's foot. I have taken an impression of his foot with dental alginate and poured a plaster cast. What medium should I use to now make a negative cast for the positive glass foot? Should I mix up some hydroperm-wait until it's...

glass table tops and safety concerns...

I have been making glass table tops. So far nothing larger than 20 inches. They are about 1/2 inch thick and set into, not ontop of the frames. My concern is safety. When I market these tops or tables must I include a layer of tempered glass to lay fused glass on top of or write a disclaimer or note...

Before trying that --which will work. I would suggest you try 2 denture cleaner tablets and water --let it fizz and soak. If that doesn't work for the glass it's a great toilet bowl cleaner.
Maybe try baking soda and vinegar soak. Good luck!

When I first took a series of classes we were told we could make one piece with copper inlay.... be originally from the East End of Long Island , I cut out a fish, inlayed it between 2 layers of plate glass, made a platter. I had known nothing about fusing glass or other glass artists' works. I was ...

If donating is not your thing--how about passing it on to beginners---find a local place that teaches and ask them if they would be willing to host a raffle. The prize being your glass - a condition of the prize would be they can come and unload . Consider everyone a winner and distribute the glass ...
