domed pendant

Post by eclairewl »

I bought a pendant in Spain that was a domed circle and I have been trying to figure out how to do this.
Any ideas?

A glass dome?
Well, you could make a circle, then slump it in a dome shaped mold.

These are 1 inch circles with a convex suface. I am going to give it a try making my round pendant flat and using a slightly larger piece of glass over it. I do this for small earrings but haven't tried it for larger pieces.

Are you sure it was fused and not torch worked? There are small casting molds available that may give you the look you're after.

It was definitely fused but I think I finally figured out how it was done: by heating the 2 pieces to 1500 I was able to achieve the effect.
Thanks for your help.
