Iford thin film haft tone glass

Post by Paul Schulz »

hi all , I was given some boxes of Ilford film half tone plate glass (2 MM) used for photographic work ( it is quite old ,about 50 years). I was interested to try it in fusing so did a few test with different glass BE Spec and different float glass some 10,6 and 3 mm float ,,,was very surprised when the test pieces came out of the kiln fully fuse with no stress clacks, it doesn't meld very well at 800c but works very well at 850c .
so my question is has anyone else tried this glass and had the same results, is one still able to buy this glass ?

contact ilford for answers.
Might be worth more money to a photographer than to use it in a kiln.
