cbs frit

Post by Linda Hassur »

I recently bought 7 tubes of this frit hoping that I could do a project that I had in mind. I've had lots of problems with it even though I patiently turned each piece so that the majority of the dichro was on the bottom. It balled up (dichro on dichro I guess) and I haven't been able to do anything with it except to grind off the mounds and humps on the top of the glass. I went to 1550 and held for 20 mins but I couldn't get it to smooth out. Any suggestions? Linda

it has to be capped.
i didnt like working with it, and wont buy it again.
for my purposes, i could cut up a bunch of tiny pieces and get a better result, without grinding and capping.

I've had the same problems with the Rainbow on clear. Like Kitty, I'm not sure I'll buy it again.

I've also purchased the Rainbow on black. Haven't tried it yet, but the pieces appear flatter. I' not sure it will pose the same problems.
