slump 17x11 piece 5/16” thick over ceramic wave mold.

Post by Carol Ann »

I am using a Bullseye double curved ceramic mold size 17x11. The glass is 5/16” thick. I think the annel should be for 2 or 3 hours T 900 degrees F.
1. 50f to 300f .hold 15 minutes
2. 100f to 800f hold no hold
3. 150 f to 1000F hold 5 minutes
4. 100 F to 1215F hold 10-15 minutes visually check
5. 600f to 900f hold for 2 or 3 hrs?
6. 200f to 800f. hold 01. minute
7. 100F to 500f hold 01. minute
8. 250f to 80f hold 00
I have never tried to slump a piece this thick. Does the schedule seem close.?
I think I will need to visually check the slump
Thanks for any assistance.

this mold slumps very easy.. 1 hr. hold should be suffice. Your multiple ramps probably not needed.. why not 250 to 1250, hold, then AFAP to1000, then 80 to anneal, then 80 to 750 then off?
Works for me.
