Kiln element compatibility with stainless?

Post by Mike Garvey »

I am thinking to add a small stainless washer to a kiln element (Kanthal) tail as it passes out of the kiln in order to prevent the tail from cutting into the soft firebrick. Can I use stainless or do I have to go the ceramic route? Thanks....Mike

Ceramic tubes are available. Old knob and tube wiring tubes could work as well. Get your wiring inspected before using.
