Adhesives for securing frit and little glass components

Post by Don Burt »

I know people use a variety of adhesives when piling up powder, frit and cut-ups on a flat blank. Why do you do this? Is it to keep the stuff from moving while you pile it up, or when you move it to the kiln? Or does it actually add some stability during the firing process? I haven’t used glue to hold stuff. I figured it would exacerbate movement as it burns out in the kiln. But I’m not certain. If you would share you thoughts I would appreciate it.

burns off around 300F ..don't expect it to hold stuff in place for fusing
