First attempt

Post by Kathy K »

I took a class by Ann Cavanaugh this past weekend on Beginning Fused Glass Landscapes. Great class and very patient instructor. :)
This is the result. Pretty pleased with this attempt and looking forward to seeing if I can duplicate the process working on another landscape.

Nice. Did you work from your own picture, or one provided by the instructor? (just curious...)

Last minute substitute in the class so didn't bring a picture....worked from one that Ann had--hardest part was picking a picture. Didn't end up looking too much like the picture, but close enough.

Very painterly. Try to hold onto that nice, loose style. It is too easy to get caught up in trying to replicate what is in a photo instead of conveying the feeling inspired by the scene. Roger Thomas is so good at that. He sometimes slices up a fired piece, rearranges the strips, throws on some more frit, and the result still reads like the landscape he intended. Be sure to post your new efforts.
