How do I present my Art?

Post by Havi »

Hi dears!
We are going to have an exhibition in the small town where I live. Its title is "Flooding".
So I made kind of flood from glass. You can see the photo below.
The curator likes it very much, yet we have discussions on how to present it.
I think it should be laid on the floor, with sand around it. Also, worrying about it being stolen, I think that I might glue the glass with museum gel, to some kind of background which anyhow will be covered with the sand.
However, the curator wants it to be bordered, possibly by wooden fence, appx. 1 foot high. Wood feels strange to me, in this connection...

Perhaps you have another, not too expensive suggestion??

I would be so grateful....

Many thanks,
Havi

Interesting concept, Havi. How was it eventually displayed?

I agree, a wooden fence 'containing' the free-flowing water is antithetical to the out-of-control
nature of a flood.

The size isn't obvious from the photo but it must be fairly large if it could be displayed on the floor. Adhering it to a piece of plywood that could be covered with sand, too, would probably work well.

Hello,
Thanks for your interest!
Nothing has come out yet, except that I added a third 'flood''
The piece will be installed by July 10th, I think. Worrying that it might be stolen - I shall keep it a home until the very last minute.
I think that I shall put around the pieces pebbles in various sizes, in an amorphic shape.
This seems to me nicest.

Thanks,
Havi
ps I was sure you were American. Now I see that you are Australian [not that it matters... but nice
