trade show walls

Post by kristyslyglass »

Hello,
I am expanding my offering of wall hanging work to include clocks, mirrors, light sconces, etc. Therefore, I need more wall-hanging space at ACRE and BMAC. I'm soliciting advice on what kind of walls would be EXTREMELY portable (I drive my Toyota Corolla to the shows) and inexpensive without looking cheap.
Graphic displays? http://www.graphicdisplaysystems.com
Pro Panels?
Something cobbled up by me with supplies from the home store?
What do you use?
Thanks,
Kristy

I don't know if this would help, but my friends and I got some cheap Rubbermaid shelving units, stuck thin luan plywood on the front with zip ties, and painted them, then hung lights on top. It looked really great at the show and also gave us a ton of storage for extra inventory and things in back. And the shelves are extremely lightweight, so they're easy to move and setup.

We are thinking of something like ProPanels, but you can't beat cheap... Article is here: http://www.morganica.com/bloggery/2012/ ... ir-year-3/

Here are assembly and final shots:

It was a fast choice--now that we know it works we've got a bunch of things we'd change (such as putting plywood on the sides, too, for more hanging space), and probably setting these up as separate units with some space.

I bought bifold closet doors at Lowes. You will have to weight them and secure them at the top, but they work well and look great.
