New Bullseye Status

Post by Warren Weiss »

Bullseye Glass Co.

Bullseye Glass Co. has signed an agreement with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. The Mutual Agreement and Order (MAO) signed today allows us to continue the process, started in February, of installing emissions control technology on our furnaces.

A pilot emissions control system (baghouse) is already in place, which allows us to make limited quantities of reds, oranges, and yellows. Starting in mid-July, we plan to bring a second baghouse online, which should allow us to resume making most other styles in limited quantities. Inventory of many styles will remain low until after we have a third, larger system installed and operational in August. At that time, we hope to return to previous production and staffing levels.

We thank all of you for your support and patience during this challenging time.

Sincerely,

The team at Bullseye

Breathing with more ease for the first time in a long time. The cloud is partly lifting. My warm thoughts to everyone at Bullseye and my endless thanks for their perseverance and endurance to get through this.

This is good news for glass, lets hope Urobouros is able to take advantage of the same deal.

Just got notice from Bullseye, prices are going up 12.5% or something like that, starting August I believe.

Guess we are all going to pay for it. Still better than no glass at all.

Long live studio glass!

Oh yes good news! After what happened to Spectrum recently I was worried my new found glass hobby might soon come to an end. No so happy about the price hike though:( It's not a cheap hobby...

I think Uro signed the deal a week or so before BE. they just went right ahead and agreed to the term of the EPA/DEQ.

I would imagine they would still be in the works.

Looks like I picked a terrible time to become obsessed with glass art!
