wasser glass fusing temp needed

Post by wynpotter »

I am new to glass fusing. My wife and I are getting into fused jewelry with
dichroic glass. We have come upon a supply of thin wasser glass already cut to shape and fired to a clean rounded edge . I need to know if a piece (1''x1") that has been fired, does that change the fusing temp if this glass is fired again. Or what is the fusing temp of thin wasser that has to be old, before they came back from the 7 year layoff I think. I fired several pieces in our small kiln with computer control and also had a piece or two of bullseye thin clear in the kiln. I fired to 1450 f w/ a 10 min soak. the wasser pulled into a halve round sq bead (looked great, but It went to full fuse ) The bullseye stayed flat with a good tack on the dichroic. Any thoughts. Thanks Wyndham. p.s. What temp would be good for fire polish 1300f? or less
