primo primer removal

Post by blue heron »

I use primo primer and for the first time it has adhered to the bottom of the piece I fused. I can but primer cleaner but I was wondering if any other cleaners will remove the residue? I tried windex and a brush and that removed some.

you can try vinegar, sulfamic acid (which is what primer remover is made of) CLR or Lime Away...I typically soak and scrub with a green tuffy scrubber. If it's imbedded in the glass, you will need to blast or grind off the surface.

Were you firing hot? I've yet to have the Primo stick to anything, but I haven't fired everything, nor hot with it. I haven't gotten the haze some have reported either. :? Just curious.

Now that I checked the instructions, which were not on the main label, I should have used distilled water. Haze may be minerals from tap water? Wondering if refiring would help?
