listen to Bruce Baker's CD on selling, especially right before you do a show.
it is full of helpful points, very specific. on the other hand, I have decided that I am way too introverted to sell my own work...many artists are.

Should have told the coordinator it was your new ectoplasm series -- and to be mindful of its inclination to levitate.

That'd make it 'pretty interesting' I'm guessing ;)

Nina was on the right track with the Bruce Baker comment. Get his tapes.

I think everyone has missed the point here. "Pretty", "interesting" , or whatever they say, the important thing is that they said something!!!!!!
That gives the artist the opportunity to converse with the (what is now) potential customer. Are you at the show to validate your work or are you there to sell. If you are there to sell, use the opening to start a "sales pitch" about your work.

Someone told me that if at a show a person says, "that reminds me of pony poop", ask if he likes horses.
