Sometimes while waiting for the vicoden to kick in and emergency dental appointments it's fun to flip through websites of member's sites I haven't visited in a while. This morning, I found myself in just such a posisition and discovering what Bill Zweifel has been up to lately strangely eases the pain a little bit. Bill - absolutely wonderful! Your new work is fabulous. Always has been, really, but this is such a beautiful, cohesive body of work. I'm so pleased for you. Great job!
Jackie sorry about the impending dental visit but thank you for Bill's website link. His work is fascinating and beautiful to look at and if I were to see it in person I would just have to touch it. I enjoyed reading his artist statement as well, very thoughtful.
Thank you Jackie and everyone else for the very kind comments. What a surprise to check the board and see my site listed, now I wish I would have updated it.
Susan the best part of this glass is touching it, it has a wonderful texture. At a recent show I was encouraging shoppers to carress it, it really helped to sell it.
I agree that getting a customer to touch the work helps to sell it - gives them more of a connection to it, especially when there is so much texture as in your work. I know I always have to look with my hands - I have to feel the vibes, the energy.
I had heard of woven glass but never remember seeing it.
Breathtaking! Do you teach classes? I noticed you plan a
section on technique. Please hurry up, for I haven't a clue
as to how you do it. I'm not sure I could ever learn to do that,
but I'd like to be able to understand your technique - at least a little.
Much success to you. I hope you sell as much glass as you want
to sell and slow down when it ceases to be fun and becomes
hard work.
