hi im new to fusing, i want to make fused dichroic jewellery and i will be getting a kiln from a friend as she no longer needs it for her pottery work, its a paragon high fire 15" x 22" in size, i need to know if i need a digital temp controller and if so what one is the best for what i want to do. p.s im in the uk.

Hi Sarah,
You don't need a controller to do jewelry, although it would help to have a pyrometer that measures the temperatures inside the kiln. As long as you can be diligent about checking the glass, you can fire jewelry in just about anything. In a brick kiln the size you're talking about, jewelry sized pieces will anneal as the kiln cools naturally. Practice with scrap before firing expensive dichroic though.
