help, need answer asap

Post by bkrgrl@aol.com »

Am getting ready to fire some jewelry pieces and the kiln wash is not dry in the bottom of the kiln-it is fairly new and shop owner told me to coat bottom with wash-now I can't get it dry. tried running it up to 100-it srill is damp-I plan to put pieces on shelf, it is dry-dare I put the stuff in and fire-will it dry on the way up if I go slow? thanks waiting with the lid up! bkrgrl

you mean the bottom of the kiln isn't dry, but the shelves are? sure go ahead.

the wash on the bottom is to protect against glass spills. if it spills off your shelf on this firing, it'll be dry long before the spill.
