PDI controller +software.

Post by Ric Rokosz »

Was wondering if anyone has used the software from http://www.temperaturecontrolwiki.com?
That or the software Fuji has (V1.0) for their PXRa controllers?
(not associated with either company)

I looked at this one just now.
http://www.temperaturecontrolwiki.com/a ... oenix.html

I did notice that it has 4 - 20 milliamp output, which requires SCR relays. These are the kind I prefer to use. They can be bought used for around the same cost as a new SSR or mercury relay. I bought a set of used Watlow Dinamites about 15 years ago, and they have performed perfectly ever since. The relay is capable of being on or off 120 times a second. The controller gives out a signal 5 times a second. This sort of control is easier on the elements than relays that are 100% on or off.

I would certainly like to hear from anybody who has used a controller and program like this. It is cheap. If it works, it would be good to know about.
