Hello eveybody,
I want to cover some stupidity I made.
I have a very dark top layer of glass. Behind, fused to it, I have broken sheet of tekta - I was wrongly assuming that the break will not be seen, because of the darkness of the glass. Unfortunately this does not happen.
My solution is to block the light coming from behind, by adding another layer.
I am sure it will work with black glass, but I prefer not to use black, rather white. Is there any hope that there is an absolutely opaque white that will block the light from behind as good as black? or is it just a wishful thinking?
Many thanks in advance,
Havi

Re: OPAQUE Bullseye WHITE?
Bullseye makes an Opaque White, 0013-30. It is very dense, not as dense as black, of course, but it doesn't let much (if any) light through.
Re: OPAQUE Bullseye WHITE?
Thanks, Brad -
do you think that white CAN actually prevent seeing the break?
The dark color I have is BE 1108 - a beautiful color in itself.
Thanks,
Havi

I wouldn't know without testing a small piece. Perhaps someone else on the board has tried it to see.Havi wrote:Thanks, Brad -

Havi,
Hold the piece of white behind it and see if any light comes through. Whites usually become more opaique after fireing.

Thanks, Warren
To be honest, what worries me about the white is , that it will make the top layer less dark , and this in itself will make the break more visible.
I want very much to use white, but as I said I am afraid that it will miss the aim for which it is put there.
Another thought that came to. Me is, that perhaps I could block the transparency with additional opaque color that will maybe add another dimension to the piece - like maybe another blue, or similar, just thinking aloud. I think I have to post a photo of this, to clarify myself.
Thanks anyway,
Havi
