Glass mosaic bowl
I'm a newbie and this is my first photo posted. It's a 7" glass mosaic bowl. I learned to make glass mosaic fused bowls at Oakta Glass Studio in Batavia, NY. .....a great place to learn fusing skills. The bottomless mold used is one of Laurie Spray's molds, which as it has no bottom, sits flat.....great for someone with limited cold working equipment. If anyone reading this is from the Hudson Valley of NY, I'd like to make a connection. Thanks.

Nice job. It also looks like it would make a very nice lamp shade as well.

It's said that inside each of us is an artist trying to get out. Well mine got out... and I haven't seen him since.

I like the design. Is the lighter blue glass opaque and the other colors transparent? Trying to understand the color cast in the shadow, and if the lighter blue is transparent, what color glass it must be to effect that result when plated over that amber color.

Wondered how you stuck it to the ceiling.

The lighter blue looks transparent -- if you look at the closeup image, you can see bubbles.
My guess is the amber is frit to fill in the spaces between the blue glass.

I use bullseye glass. Not sure what color the lighter blue is because it was unlabeled scrap glass. The dark blue is deep royal blue, the green is adventurine green and the frit is fine marigold yellow. It was made with a base of two layers of 90 clear. Thanks for the comments. This was the first time I used the morton board to make traiangles. Fun!

Nice. Flip it over and it would make a gorgeous ceiling lamp
