Here's the background: I did a pattern bar, and it came out pretty good, although it curved slightly on the edges. No big deal, I know how to fix that next time.
I sliced, and finally fused in a white circle. I cut a strip out of the white to leave a channel for the pattern slice. I used a clear piece on the bottom when i fused. Because the edges of the bar were curved, I had slight "issues" at the edges of the circle.
To fix the uneven edge, I trimmed off around the edge of the circle to fix my "issues".
The recommeded diameter for my mold is 4.5 to 4.75. It's a small, deep candy dish type umbrella mold.
Because I had to trim around the circle with my ring saw the disk is about 4.2 in diameter which is a little smaller than recommended for the umbrella mold. I fused it with the clear on the bottom so I have a slight paper pattern matte finish on the bottom from the Papyros. I was experimenting - don't judge!
Because I trimmed it, the circle has a flat edge. So - if I slump it as is - when it slumps the flat edge will end up facing almost up, and the temp won't be enough to fire polish the edge anyway. Not what I'm going for.
Ideally I'd like the clear side up, and nicely rounded edges.
Basically, I have a disk (system 96), 4.2 in diameter, .25 thick, with flat sides, color on one side, clear on the other.
So I have options:
Re-fuse as is, then slump
or
Flip and re-fuse, then slump
or
Slump into the mold with a full fuse schedule
or
Cap with thin clear (on already clear side or white/bar side?) and re-fuse, then slump
or
Cap with thin clear that's .25 bigger than the circle (which side?) and re-fuse (maybe increasing the diameter a bit?), then slump
