A few years ago, my wife and I invited some friends over with kids who seemed bored with the same ole egg dye this time of year. We set up egg decorating stations with pre-cut eggs, split some in half and supplied various cups with frit, stringers, noodles and an assortment of glass bits for decorating. With a little instruction at first, all had a blast getting creative. We then fired to a tack fused and glued magnets to the eggs. We added a few chicks in the mix and then delivered their handy work. A fun day for all.
Sorry the Pics aren't so great...

someone should do the same thing with pumpkins.

Make thousands of them about 3" round. Float glass with copper stain on one side and silver stain on the other, makes a neat orange. I gotta start now.charlie wrote:someone should do the same thing with pumpkins.

Sorry to be dense here, but:
What are the 'pre-cut' eggs of which you speak?
What do you mean when you say "split them in half?"
Thanks!

We "pre-cut" the eggs before the kids arrived. 3 mm ovals in various colors. And all the "adornments" were ready at their disposal. It was not a glass cutting demonstration. They came to decorate. We left some eggs whole and halved some so they could choose a different color top and bottom as if you were "dying" the eggs. All the halved eggs were cut at the same point so any top would work with any bottom and still look like an egg. Assuming they were all cut the same size.
