vasoline glass
I have some glass that by a slight chance might be Vaseline glass I can't seem to locate a black light to check it out . I would like to use it in some pod molds and was wondering if there were any hazards I should be aware of either to me or the kiln.

No hazards. The uranium oxide is totally contained.

My experiments were not pleasing. It fused like float.

Also, known as uranium glass, it's glass that is made with a small amount of uranium oxide. That makes it glow under a black light. It was really popular around the 30's, but stopped being widely made after WWII, when uranium was used for other things.Greg Rawls wrote:What is vasoline glass?
Today you mostly find it in some boro (for pipes) and marbles (glow in the dark). There was a company making some for fusing a few years ago, but I don't know if they're still around.
Called Vaseline glass because that's the color.
