my best glass story

This might be the best story of my glass career. I was selling at the Palo Alto Clay and Glass Festival this past weekend. Of course I had my glass portraits with me. They are my higher end items and so people take a little time to think about it. It just so happened that I had so quite a few the show before and gallery has 9 of my portraits so this last portrait creation spurt was a little rushed. I happen to forget to name a particular portrait. This couple was interested but took a little walk away to think about it. This is what the wife told me about their walk. They did not get far from my booth and the wife noticed something might be bothering her husband and asked him if there was something wrong. He was a little distraught and said " We have to go back and buy Lucy" They came right back to my booth and told me that they had name my portrait Lucy and that she needed to be in their home. It was quite emotional - just like an adoption. Both of my kids are adopted so I truly felt the emotions. Wow when you know your art reaches down to people hearts it's really something..... So when I go to the Center of the Art in Healdsburg this weekend for the Gallery show I'm hoping that there will be other people that can bring home their own children and feel the love inside.

I wonder who Lucy is. What a great story and thanks for sharing it. Have a great show and maybe more like you say will find a new home. They are truly fun and most interesting and would be quite a conversational piece . Find some one to stand around at the show and listen to comments and stories and compile a whole bunch for us. Les
