Working with black glass

Hi everybody,
I know that black glass can be problematic when being fired, especially with other glasses, because it absorbs heat quicker.
Is there any particular schedule, or particular rates to working with powders,?
I am planning on using the black BE 100, as a background and using various other powder colors as such as red, white, yellow, perhaps blue...
and still leave some spaces without any powder, or 1101 or 1401 on them?

What temperature are you planning to fire the piece?

If it's in the normal fusing range (1375F to 1500F/750C to 815C) you shouldn't need to do anything special.

Thanks for your response.
Rather than the top temp., I was thinking that perhaps the rate of raising the temp. should be slower, because the background is black.

I am going to fire something to full fusing 820 on my kiln for 20 minutes, as I have a piece of BE which I want to fuse into the bigger sheet of black glass.
I hope for the best.....

I regularly fire large (23" dia) black base bowls with every colour you can name fit like a puzzle on top ..bubble squeeze.then..full fuse 1480F for 20 min. Works perfect every time.

I think that there is a difference if you cover the black base with colored glass on top, or if you cover only PART of the black base with - glass, and I would expect a different attitude if you partly cover the black base with other colors of powders.

I don't know - therefore I ask advise. But it seems to me there should be a difference in rate ....
