FLEX or SUHNER ????

Post by Havi »

Hello everybody,
I posted earlier that my angle grinder is gone. It was an Alpha grinder, which probably did its job and died. I had bought it at his glass works, years ago.
Now I am looking for another one.
I find at His glass works 2 offers
1. FLEX LE12-3 [FOR 340 $] [was also recommended by an Israeli glassie]
AND
2. Suhner UXF4-R [for 715$], also weighs a bit more than the above.

You usually say 'you get what you pay for'.....

Does anyone have any experience with any of this tools???
may I have your feedback, please,
I have a quite urgent assignment that needs to be done real quick

please advise me,
Thanks
Havi

I can't help you with that choice but I just replaced my Alpha- it froze on me after 10 good years of use. Make that abuse: I finally read the manual and found out that I didn't oil it properly, didn't blow the water out after each day's use, didn't make sure the air was dry enough, etc. I figure I got my money's worth anyway and bought another Alpha. I'm treating this one better.

Thanks , Marty
My neighbor, who is more technical than me, when he heard the noise the Alpha made, said that this is finished totally.
Additionally, I do not see the Alpha at His Glass, while the one I own I bought from him. So I do not know....

Anyway, I want to buy locally if possible because I need it yesterday. I'll see what's available here AND try to fix the Alpha - the way Charlie suggests on the other post.

see you soon, and many thanks

if it was making internal grinding noises that were a lot louder then usual, the bearings could be worn out. in that case, it would cost more to fix the replace.
