2015 Magnet Exchange Now Underway

The 2015 Magnet Exchange is now underway.

For the uninitiated, the annual Magnet Exchange began in 2002. Participants agree to make fused maglesses (that's a refrigerator magnets without the magnet) for each person in the exchange. The maglesses are sent to a central location where they are sorted, repackaged and then shipped back. Each participant end up with an assortment of small fused glass projects. In the past, the number of participants has ranged from 40 to more than 100. A small fee of $25 is collected to cover shipping and sorting expenses.

I'm excited to work again on maglesses for the exchange.

Because we now need baggies to put our maglesses in I thought I'd offer anyone the opportunity to join me and share some small baggies. I'm attaching a photo here so you can see the two I'm entertaining. The one that is 3 x 3 is padded. (Which I thought would be ideal for glass) The second one is 2.5 x 3 and has a white area on it to write your number and name. I can afford this easily if I share them, but if no one is interested then it's a bit more of a stretch and I don't need 1,000 bags.

Here in Tacoma is a company called Polybags and I would go down, get which ever we decide on; divide them and send them to you. For my gas and postage I thought the padded would be $10/100 (10¢ each) and the ones with a white tag would be $8.25/100 (4/33¢). I'd send them out by early January.

Let me know if you want some bags and how many blocks of 100.

Bag prices start at 75 cents a 100. You want the 3x4 size.
Takes a business card. At $11.50 per 1000 they are perfect for selling jewelry.

You want the clear as it enables viewing without having to remove from the bag and it is easier to computer print on a slip of paper the information than write it on each bag.
