Slumping Issue

Post by pollyanna12 »

Hi,
I have a 30 x 30cm slightly curved ceramic mould which I have twice used successfully with clear glass.
I recently slumped a 30 x 30 cm 6mm piece made using Spectrum glass in the same mould. It shaped nicely but left a cloudy, matt texture in some parts on the back of clear glass.
I cleaned the mould and applied new kiln wash. I got the same effect. I then went over the top of the mould to smooth it out and got an even appearance of this cloudy appearance when I slumped a 3mm piece. This happened again the next time with the 3mm clear glass.
Someone suggested devitrification but would it appear so evenly on the bottom of the plate?
I used the following program
302f 1220 10mins
9999 1004 10 mins
194 950 40 mins
104 806 0

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
