recycled lead crystal

Post by Judy Schnabel »

I recently posted on the other board about a vase one of my customer's had given me. It was cracked when it arrived and the shipper didn't want it back.

Turns out the vase was lead crystal so I turned to Graham Stone's book to seek information about firing lead crystal.

You can see my melts and my final piece at

I'm not looking for critique. This was just fun and a real challenge. I could really have used a wbs.

One of the little disks came about by my overfiring the first drop out bowl. I was sort of thinking in terms of float temperatures. NOT!!!
But I did get a little neat small disk with neat twirls of glass on top as the glass started to string.
