WIFI monitoring of RTC 1000
I just set up a Bartlett RTC 1000 kiln controller for my kilns. It works great but I contacted Bartlett to find out if they had an add on that would allow me to monitor my kiln via WIFI. I don't want to program my kiln wirelessly, I just want to monitor it wirelessly (so I don't need a KISS system). They said that they didn't have anything for the RTC 1000. Does anyone know of an aftermarket solution for me?

Don't know of an attachment for the RTC1000, of course there are other controllers, but would be expensive.
Here's what I did in a similar situation: bought a webcam and set it up so it pointed directly at the display on the controller. Then I could access the cam via the internet and check on the temperature and status of the firing. Worked fine, webcams are under $100.

Thanks Brad. I will look into the webcam idea. I couldn't do an interface (if one had been available) or the webcam before because I didn't have internet service at the shop. I put a wifi bridge up between my house and my studio and now I am streaming capable. Any suggestions for the webcam?

Mine's a decade old, so I'm sure they don't make that model anymore. I guess it's down to just checking reviews on some place like Amazon.Terry Gallentine wrote:Any suggestions for the webcam?

If you just want to monitor from point A the kiln to Point B, there are security cameras and screens that are wireless and don't use internet
Swann and Lorex ones come to mind. Basically they are visual and auditory baby minders or unannounced visitor warning systems.
