I have a large (20”) ball mold I would like to make undulate on the side surface. It would only need a few areas bumped in to make it more organic. Can this be done with fiber paper or ???
Thanks, Linda

Fiber paper will work.

Fiber paper is so thin I don’t know how I would get any raised fluted shape. Is there something to build up the surface under the fiber paper?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Fiber paper comes in thicknesses from 1/32" to 1/4". You may be thinking of thinfire paper, which is much thinner.
You could also use fiber blanket, which comes in thicknesses from 1/2" to 4".

These were made in 5" ball surface molds. I used SilkMatte. It works fine for larger pieces as well.
