I’m considering purchasing a used Evenheat kiln, my first. How do I know if it is a good one? Any advice on what to test, look for, or avoid would be appreciated.

Re: Evaluating a used kiln
Hi Doug, welcome to the board.
You don't say, but do you have any experience with kilns? I can't advise about Evenheat as I've never owned that brand but a search in the search field using the information about that make and the model number might bring up some posts or threads with useful information about good and not so good points.
If you don't have any kiln experience you might want to consider questions such as:
Does it have a controller?
What are you planning to make or do? Fusing and slumping, painting and firing, making jewellery, casting glass? Would top or side elements, or both, be preferable? Use the 'Search " function to clarify your specific needs, then ask specific questions.
Good luck!
