Tack fuse schedule for 14” cone art kiln

Post by DawnEllis59 »

Hello. I have a great tack fuse schedule that never fails in my Tucker cone art kiln 14.5 amps with a 3k bartlett controller

I use the same schedule in my 14” tucker kiln 18 amps with the same 3k controller and it fires to a full fuse

Does anyone have the same kiln or suggestion for chane in the firing schedule?

I have attached the schedule i have tried and got full fuse results with instead of tack polish

Thanks in advance!

The second kiln fires hotter than the first, so you'll need to reduce the top temperature (from 1325 to something less than that). Exact temperature depends on the particular kiln and degree of tack you want. Try 1300 and watch the kiln to see if that works. If not, go higher or lower than that to hone in on the right temperature.

When you say watch the kiln can i carefully open the lid and peek in?

Yep. The key word is carefully. And just peek, don't hold it open very long.
