Re: What to do with vitrigraph stuff
I have been going crazy with the vitrograph this last week, which I have wanted to use for years. I am definitely using them 3-D, so no slumping for me. I am keeping them in long narrow boxes, like for long-stemmed roses. Jim, your image didn't show on my screen, and I'd love to see it.
Re: What to do with vitrigraph stuff
It didn't show on mine, either, but I clicked on his website icon and got to see a bunch of really cool pieces!

Re: What to do with vitrigraph stuff
When that thread started and the picture was posted I was in Miami. A little has changed since so it isn't surprising the picture doesn't post. But I save everything so here it is again.
It was a cool piece and is now in my daughter's collection. Maybe this will motivate me to make another.

The website is way out of date too. My son is, supposedly, working on it.
When we get it spiffied up I'll announce it here for those who have, on occassion, visited.

Re: What to do with vitrigraph stuff
Nina, look again there are 4 vitrigraph pieces posted under "Small Bowls".
There is also a large black platter in the "Platters" section that I think is one of my better pieces especially using vitrigraph. Here's a picture and there are closeup on my site.

Hi Nina,
Great new direction..also love the shadow play on the wall. How are they fixed to the wooden shelf?

thanks, Karuna.
holes in the wood, then glue. remember how I was itching to use a vitrograph kiln at Pilchuck? I finally had my chance!

Nina, yes, remember that...and amazing that we are both now into "vitrigraphy".
Re: What to do with vitrigraph stuff
you are? where can I see? I thought you were doing ever more imaginative pattern bars constructions
Re: What to do with vitrigraph stuff
Check my website; all pieces in the top row are made with murrini. Currently working on a piece inspired by a sea urchin shell. Will post pic when/if it reaches the finishing line...I haven't made a pattern bar in a very long time.

Nina, she's making her own vitrograph canes and then cutting them into murrini. At least that's my guess.Nina Falk wrote:I saw the beautiful murrini. what are you calling vitrigraphy?

Hey Lauri,Lauri Levanto wrote:A few days ago someone posted abou "Hot Box".
The desription sounded like Vitrigraph.
1. Is there any difference?
2. Are both terms good to use?
-lauri with the dictionary
A Hot Box is the name for a type of kiln made by Evenheat. It can be used as a vitrigraph, if modified.

I pull all my own canes to make the murrini, like Valerie says.Nina Falk wrote:I saw the beautiful murrini. what are you calling vitrigraphy?
