can you fix bubbles after fusing?

Post by Stacey Jones »

I just fused a piece that took about 40 hours to make! Unfortunately I learned that bubbles form when the two layers of glass are not touching. I used frit on the lower peace of glass, and the bubbles formed inbetween the areas of the frit (big bubbles). Is there anyway to rescue this piece?
For instance, can I drilll a small hole in the bubbled area and then refire?
Thanks, Stacey

There are many posts in the archives about this that you might find helpful.

I have tried drilling out the holes, and filling them with an appropriate color frit with good results.
