I relatively new to warm glass work and I'm having a problem with slumping a clear and cathedral "96 spectrum" bowl. I have resulted in a frosting or haze in various degrees. After searching the archives I think I maybe slumping to fast.
Slumped as follows
Rate 370
Temp 1100
Hold 0
As fast as it will ramp to 1330
hold 15 minutes
anneal at 950
hold 30 minutes

Re: Problem Slumping
Try going lower and holding longer. The haze you are getting is probably devitrification and that mostly occurs between 1300 and 1400. You should be able to get it to slump at 1200 or 1250 by holding longer.Val wrote:I relatively new to warm glass work and I'm having a problem with slumping a clear and cathedral "96 spectrum" bowl.
