Firing Schedule for Hanovia Mother of Pearl Luster

Post by Mira »

Does anyone have a firing schedule for hanovia mother of pearl luster? Last night I tried it out - I took it up to 1310, held for ten minutes. Unfortunately, what I ended up with is an etched look - definately not mother of pearl. I think I probably took it too high and it burned off. Anyone else ever use the stuff? Thx.

I think it's cone 018-019. Call your ceramics folks for a conversion if you need one since I don't know what temp that is. Info about all hanovia products and firing cones are at the above link.

cone 018 to 019 would average out to be right about 1250 F.

Here's a useful chart to explain cone temp.
