A piano repair guy down the hall from me has his drill press suspended from an overhead frame with linear shafts running through it so he can move it about 6 feet in any direction. He has to be able to drill hundreds of holes in the centers of pianos. He also has a little laser pointer on it that he uses to line up the center of the hole, since he can't stand right next to the bit. All homemade.
