Re: Uroboros Residency
Creating a new birds nest. I had alot of fun with this 22 inch piece. NOW with a major thunder and lightening storm rolling through the Rockies here, I can only pray the power stays on long enough to finish slump into deep nesting shape. Ughgh!

No , I slumped sliced colour bar pieces over an older Mold Mix 6 large leaf mold. Slumped and fused at same time which gave the twigs an interesting look. You cannot see them very well in this pic. I will fuse them first next time as although I liked them, I NOW want to really make them interesting.

Les,
I really like the change. It makes it look like a contemporary painting in glass.

Re: Uroboros Residency
Thankyou so kindly . I love creating with colour bars as you do get a much more painterly approach, and I am so glad you noticed.

Re: Uroboros Residency
It is called " AUTUMN"S FIRST SNOW FALL " and the sky is a bit dramatic but not so much that it takes away from the piece. So thankyou Rosanna, that means alot.

I love your work...the "busier" ones make me feel like I'm hiking up the mountains, a bit breathless and the last one, the quieter one, feels like I've reach the sumitt and can catch my breath. Yet it is still distinguishable as yours.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Uroboros Residency
Risa and Bob, not only was I exhausted after the residency with border guards and other things making my trip to the U.S. difficult, but at the end it was ALL worth every red and tired face I earned. The owners and the staff go over backwards to make your stay in their studio an"A" one experience, and it is something I do pray to do again as you are totally immersed in the process of creativity, but get to share your ideas and techniques with the staff, which to me is soooo important as they are the ones MAKING the glass that we all get to experiment with.
