Yes, Marian, it did work. I also covered the repaired crack with a few other smaller fused elements, which disguised it. It is hanging on a wall, and the repaired area has no stress on it, so I assume it will last forever. FYI- Loctite E-30CL Epoxy does have some thickness to it, unlike Hxtal.
re: the crack: I do think the glass had too much variation in thickness, and I have been focusing on making sure my glass has more overall 'body' to it.

For those of you who are using or testing different adhesives, this US company seems to have a lot of different types. http://www.masterbond.com/
I get their newsletters, always some interesting products in them.
Haven't had the need to order any yet, just mentioning it here in case it is helpful to someone. They also seem to export world wide, very useful to some of us.
